ABOUT US:

Velocity Clearing began in 2003, providing third-party security locate services. We saw the challenge clients experienced when dealing with multiple companies to reach their goals. We sought to build a streamlined system that integrated all aspects of their trading experience into one full-service firm.

Velocity has since created a robust trading product and service ecosystem including stock locate, securities borrow coverage, clearing infrastructure, competitive financing, in-house trading desk, and full support client services.

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Domestic Security Settlements Analyst. In this role, you will play a key part in the clearing process for domestic securities transactions, ensuring the timely and accurate settlement of trades. You will work closely with other team members to manage and resolve settlement discrepancies, as well as interact with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient operations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Trade Settlement: Process and monitor the settlement of domestic securities trades, ensuring all transactions are completed accurately and on time.

· Reconciliation: Reconcile trade discrepancies, including mismatches in trade amounts, prices, and settlement instructions, ensuring issues are addressed and resolved efficiently.

· Communication: Liaise with brokers, custodians, and counterparties to facilitate the smooth settlement of trades and resolve any related issues.

· Documentation Management: Maintain and update all settlement-related documentation, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

· Reporting: Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly settlement reports, tracking key metrics and performance indicators.

· Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve settlement failures or discrepancies by working with internal teams, external counterparties, and clearing firms.

· Compliance and Regulations: Ensure all settlement processes adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies to mitigate risk and maintain accurate records.

· Process Improvement: Suggest process enhancements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and improve settlement timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is preferred.

Skills:

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Basic knowledge of financial markets, securities trading, and settlement processes.

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· Experience: No prior experience in securities settlements required; however, any experience or internships in finance, accounting, or operations are a plus.

  • Monday-Friday 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

SALARY:

  • Starting at $60k/ year
